Após a sua chegada, o que te chamou mais atenção no CCSP? Quais foram seus métodos ou estratégias para você conhecer e se aproximar da instituição?

Quem foram as pessoas que te receberam no CCSP? Você circulou por outras curadorias (teatro, dança, musica)?

What were the things that most called your attention in CCSP? What were your methods or strategies to get to know and get closer to the institution?

Who guided you around in CCSP? Did you talk with different curators (from other areas such as theater, dance, music)?

No meu primeiro dia o Fernando Oliva, diretor da Divisão de Curadoria e Programação, me guiou pelo prédio do CCSP. Naquela ocasião, eu tive o prazer de conhecer algumas pessoas interessantes do GRiD, você e o Roberto Winter. O Fernando me mostrou a biblioteca, os teatros, salas de cinema, galerias e auditórios. Ele me explicou os diferentes projetos que estavam acontecendo e os que estavam prestes a acontecer (os quais eu poderia me envolver). Eu também conheci Martin Grossman, diretor do CCSP, nós conversamos sobre a organização e estrutura do Centro. Quando Martin se tornou diretor, os conceitos de programação, curadoria, e multidisciplinaridade eram principios que ele gostaria de introduzir. Ele descreve a curadoria como um jeito de pensar por meio da criação de projetos e contextos a fim de mostrar manifestações artísticas (como artes visuais, teatro, dança, cinema e música) construindo um diálogo entre o CCSP e o público. Ele organizou um time de 5 curadores representando cada disciplina liderada por um Diretor de Curadoria e Programação.

Eu trabalhei em 3 projetos no Centro Cultural São Paulo. O primeiro é um projeto de investigação ainda em curso sobre residências de artistas com o objetivo de abrir uma residência para artistas internacionais em São Paulo. Eu visitei várias residências de artistas em São Paulo. Eu estava interessada em conversar com artistas e diretores sobre as condições desses programas. Durante essa pesquisa muitas questões emergiram, em particular, qual o papel que essas residências teriam dentro do discurso da arte e como podem ajudar a produção de arte. Palavras chaves como: intercâmbio de ideias, experiência, networking e laboratório apareceram sempre como parte do discurso dessas residências visitadas.

O segundo projeto é uma exposição aberta no dia 6 de fevereiro chamada Wonderland: ações e paradoxos.

Finalmente, o terceiro projeto foi uma pesquisa sobre projetos multidisciplinares, e para isso eu conversei com alguns curadores de diferentes disciplinas no CCSP.

On my first day I was guided though the Centro Cultural Sao Paulo’s building by Fernando Oliva, Director of Curating and Programming, in that opportunity I had the pleasure to meet some interesting people from GRID, Luiza Proenca and Roberto Winter. Fernando showed me the library, the film theatres, galleries and auditoriums. He explained to me the different projects that were currently on and the ones that were about to happen (where I could get involved).  I also met Martin Grossman, Director of the CCSP; we talked about the organization and structure of the Center. When Martin became the Director, concepts of programming, curating, and multidisciplinary were principles he wanted to introduce. He describes curating as a way of thinking through the creation of projects and contexts in order to show artistic manifestations (such visual arts, theatre, dance, film and music) building a dialogue between the Center and the public. He organized a team of 5 curators representing each discipline leaded by a Director of Curating and Programming.

I worked in three projects at the Centro Cultural Sao Paulo in Brazil. The first one is an ongoing research project about artist residencies with the aim at opening an international artist residency in Sao Paulo (Brazil). I visited various artist residencies in Sao Paulo. I was interested in talking to artists and directors regarding the conditions of these programmes.  During this research many questions emerged, in particular, what role these residencies would have within the art discourse and how it helps art production. Key words like: exchange of ideas, experience, networking and laboratory were always part of the discourse of these residencies.

The second project at the Centro Cultural Sao Paulo is an exhibition opened on the 6th February 2010 untitled: Wonderland: actions and paradoxes.

Finally, the third project was a research on multidisciplinary projects, for this I talked to some curators of different disciplines at the CCSP.
